Hi, I am wondering in ProRealTime for Point and Figure Charting, is there any way to adjust the Box Size to dynamic ATR rather units or percentage points? Thank you in advance.

Not automatically, but I suppose you refer to this kind of setting?

Dynamic (ATR) scaling bases the box size on the daily Average True Range (ATR). The default is set at 20 days.

Yes Nicolas that is the correct ATR you are talking about.  If the Point and Figure charts in ProRealTime can’t be set automatically to this ATR you mention above, is there anyway to set Point and Figure charts for the Dynamic (ATR) Average True Range  (20 days) manually ?  Thank you. Mary

Also Nicolas, I am noticing a problem with stocks that are set to % in box size for Point and Figure. If you look at any stock, the X’s  and O’s do NOT line up in  horizontal rows as they should. They are off by small amounts or entirely off center from one row to the next. I don’t think that should be happening, all X’s should line up Center to Center in horizontal rows, otherwise a trade can’t be taken  correctly and right now, on most stocks they do not.  Is this a glitch that needs to be corrected in ProRealTime? Thank you. Mary

I know what you are talking about, I made a test on a daily timeframe and the points and figures X and O are not aligned. Since this kind of chart is not related to time passing by, I suggest you use the 1 tick chart which is the most accurate for non-time related price representation (such as renko for instance).

In the below picture, you will find that the symbols are correctly aligned when using the percentage setting, on a 1-tick chart.

I’m afraid there is no way to set the points and figures chart to a dynamic scale with ATR, sorry for that.
