PLEASE Can Window Size be Saved??

Is anybody else sick to death of resizing windows on PRT where size cannot be saved and which open at default size which is like looking into a post box?? I can only see 8 files and I have 892 files in the folder, so I end up scrolling back and to endlessly else I have to resize and resize again later on and resize again … etc. It all feels like using a computer from 25 years ago?
Attached is one which all AutoTraders use many times per day if you store .itf files on your PC.
The window opens like image 1, whereas I want it to open like image 2 so I dont have to resize many many many times per day!
I’m posting my rant hoping somebody will say … Aha what you need to do is this??

In default size, Opti 1 only lets me see 3 rows! The rest of the window shows the Walk Forward function that could easily be hidden until needed?
After resize. I can see 14 rows but the window will open at the same ‘useless 3 row size’ next time I open it and I will have to scroll, scroll and scroll again else resize and resize again next time I use the window (many many many times per day!).
The resized window cannot be saved!
Anybody got a work around please?

Of course not. But how many more do you want to have ? Yes, sick and sick and sick and tired and tired and tired.
Let’s gradually extend this list. Glad that you started it (not that we started it ONE YEAR AGO already, but more hidden).The first is the same as yours, but now for the width which most of the times is too small. It is also about where windows open, like this one. In the middle of the editor. Who wants that ?!? Not to talk of the position of the editor itself. Or its size.
Many more to come. Who has most, wins ?

- They always appear under each other (smart thinking, but no way this works conveniently);
- They run off the screen (the bottom is the bottom of the screen). And with that out of sight. More and more and more.
What’s even more annoying, is that a second takes the size (width) of the first. It may take a year before you realize that you must size a FIRST to be happy with all of them all day (because they copy the size of the first one).
In the second attachment still the same window. More annoying hardly exists. The amount does nog fit (2.18…) because of the idiot to wide columns of everything, of because of your variable names to long and the whole thing may not even fit the width of the screen. Dragdragdrag.
For ONCE people at PRT should start using anything of the part of this platform themselves. They will beg to get fired.N.b.: I always said that the ProrealCode part of PRT has been developed by others. The measure of the remainder of the platform is nowhere to be seen. Really no resemblance.
GraHal thanked this postAlways and always and always needs to be changed. It determines its own height. And although it can be shut off it comes back at each new backtest, always taking space I want to use for something else. What ? possibly 10000 times by now. What annoying.
Similar is what appears where. Oh, we can drag the one over the other so they flip.
Really ? Yes, for the time you do that. But a next Backtest will have its own rules (and unpredictable on top of it).More later.
Not really “size” as such related, but as annoying over and over again. Below you see three windows as a result of, well, nothing I want. I ask for a new instrument (AUD/EUR in this case) and I have no Strategy for it. Still PRT is going to apply all the Strategies she can find from anOTHER instrument.
- Each of these for this instrument useless strategies is calculated until I stop it. **
- Each of these windows must be crossed away because I wanted to use my screen for other matter.
- This is a plain bug to begin with, because the optimisation variables do not belong to that Instrument (or connected strategy for that matter) in the first place.

But the some times plethora of small windows you see in the 2nd attachment, mostly do not respond at a first click on Stop – *if* that happens at the 2nd click. You can’t even see whether it helps, because as many windows as “calculate” bring such a small window laid over each other, thus click away one, will show a next without you knowing. It becomes more complicated when windows pop up which I will show in a next post (I will show things as they occur throughout the day).
Proceeding the last post …
When I am loading a new instrument, totally unrelated to anything – actually as explained before – windows like the below appear. Here two strategies (??) are automatically calculated. However, the again numerous optimisation windows which appear (one for each of the progress bars you see – also see 2nd attachment for now 4 of these windows, while two were there and should be there) will OVERLAY the window from the 1st attachment and so you don’t even see the calculations happening. Sometimes 6 or even more of these calculations are on-going (if you only happen to see such window with several progress bars) and far worse : it may take an out for suddenly something pops out (an other zombie Detailed Report) telling you that it is ready. See 3rd attachment – I really did not ask for this.
I can’t even begint to count how many “Stop” little windows, double-progressbar windows, optimisation windows and Detailed Report Windows, I need to click away, only because I, for example, want to look at something (an other instrument) the community brings forward.
Notice that these are all unlinked charts and stuff, or else I could understand something from it.If I don’t quickly stop all these calculations, by means of clicking on Stop buttons in windows which are mostly hidden, my screen is full of sh*t I did not ask for.
In the 4th attachment you can count 6 sections which are each related to the stuff I did not ask for. Only the price section at the bottom is what I actually (indirectly) asked for. I must now get red of them piece by piece and bit by bit. Mind you, this is the result of only TWO of these progress bar “calculations”. As I told, there can be 6 just the same (if I would now quit PRT, they all come back if I don’t first get rid of all these sections, which depict backtest strategies which are all zombie.
How mad do you want to have it ?
Mind you, this stuff starts to happen in all its severity once you have more than one strategy active on the same instrument, or when you try to deal with more than one instrument each with a strategy. Now envision one of these instruments (or both or more) with more than one strategy you are (back)testing. It is no less than a hell, and the shivers break out when all just was organized but the platform has to be restarted for one or the other reason (like doing it because you may else lose your edits – ahem !!)
All of such matters were spelled out one year ago. Not only here, but also sent to PRT development after asking them whether it was a good idea to do so. Yes it was.
Zilch response.If V12 comes out without this nonsense solved, I will get a Bounty and you can ride along. If you know what I mean.
