Anybody notice that your mouse gets jumpy / jittery after you have had PRT Platform open for a few hours and you have been doing a few optimising backtests etc?
I’ve not had any issues like this for 12 months or more, but in the last 2 months or so it is driving me mad again … like old (bad) times !!!
When I check the RAM usage using Task Manager then PRT is using > 2.3GB of RAM. If I close all screens down and just leave the File thro to Help Menu screen then PRT still is using > 2.3GB, i.e PRT does not release RAM after using it at some point!?
When I first open PRT then it is uses around 500MB of RAM, but it creeps up to > 2.3GB!
Maybe the old RAM HOG Issue / Gremlin has crept back in again during the 6 Jul 19 update??
Hello,
I had the same problem in August. In backtest, prorealtime has become slow. force to go through the Windows task manager to close prorealtime
Definitely a few weird things happening. My demo platform just crash closed itself.
Lost some work = not happy. 🙁
Not hogging RAM (743MB) but I just had to Task Manager out as the Platform was doing weird stuff!
Well not doing stuff … wouldn’t allow me to open a NEW System in the Indicators and Systems / BT window (just dead / no responcse) and also wont close the Platform via File, Quit so I had to crash out!
Anybody getting weird stuff this morning??
EDIT / PS
Out and back in again and seems fine now.
this morning the real platform is closing without warning and I have all lost
Thanks for saying @fifi743 as I sometimes feel guilty that it is only me and I’m always moaning! 🙂
We wouldn’t mind if only PRT put up a alert screen with a warning when we log on or even had a status screen on the PRT website and the same goes for IG … as we never know who is responsible most of the time?
I’ll try and remember to exit and save often as you have lost work this morning … losing work is so damned annoying and can put us in a bad mood for the rest of the day!? 🙁
Platform is not even saving as it is supposed to!
I clicked / confirmed I wanted to save changes by clicking the x in the top right corner after making a change via the coding window and also clicked save after File, Quit.
Guess what … work lost, save was not executed!
So beware fellow coders … today is not a good day to be coding!
Save direct to my PC?
… yes a good work around under conditions like today.
Well weird stuff just happened … like half screens, well not half but outlines of a screen but no content!
Also controls not responding so I had to use Task Manager to close the Platform!
I had run a System and so it was listed in the Indicators and Trading Systems screen, the System was not there when I opened the Platform after exiting using Task Manager!
Early night I think might the wisest move! 🙂
I had a sudden demo platform crash close yesterday as well as a very slow responding platform prior to that crash close. At the time I was working with a very graphic heavy 200 line heat map that I was developing.
Well weird … certain actions that will not respond at all when I click and yet other actions work fine.
Ans this time it’s NOT due to high RAM usage (702.4 MB only) as I had to crash out and as soon as I logged back in it was the same … some actions, e.g. Export … not responding at all!
Anybody else getting similar weird symptoms tonight??
PS
Even weirder … will Import but not Export!!
Hello,
no problem for now.
but last night it was complicated.
