Hello, is there a specific button in Prorealtime to reverse an order?

Hi deluso – On the position-label, rightclick – invert (or something named very similar – I can’t test it right now).

    Hi @deluso,

On your graph the green and red arrows in the left top corner.

None of those options work for me.

Right clicking the current position label allows to close, add limit, add stop… but not to reverse.

The green and red arrows in the left top corner only allow to open/close new positions.

In the order book is a button to reverse your order (in Dutch: Positie omkeren)

Interesting; I use this on a daily basis BUT this is with PRT-IB. If I only could show it, which I can’t because all is closed and I have no open positions (first time since March 2020 😉 ).

We talking here about reversing an Order – from Buy Limit to Sell Limit – or reversing a trade already open – Close Long, Open Short?

Yes, the scalping form has the reverse position button.

Hahaha, maybe the former is quite impossible – maybe in a closed market. Unless you want to lose a lot of money right away of course.
So at least *I* was talking about / responding to the latter.

I think it is a great feature and it was introduced with V11 (as far as I recall). But apparently only for IB ?
I would not know a reason for not allowing it for IG because it is not a Broker trick – it’s just simply ordering the double amount in the inverse direction. As far as I could find a year or so ago, IB herself also does not have the feature.

It is also a bit of a dangerous feature because it is easy to keep on losing; lately (say past 6 months) I rather have a period of rest before I decide to “reverse”. Thus, Exit, sit back and decide …

ordering the double amount in the inverse direction

We can easily do this with IG, e.g. trade open – Long 1 unit so enter 2 as Qty and click on  Sell … result trade open – Short 1 unit.

Make sure you have Force Open Disabled.

    But of course !
However, please do realise that most of the time when this is used, it is tack tack tack tack tack tack but all preceded by right-click, which would take me a second or 3 to reverse 6 Futures once all starts topping and break. True, clicks on prepared trade-quantities and then the normal large buttons would work too (thus have a quantity of 6 in there where the position is 3). But obviously all quantities are not the same at all, plus I add (could be 1, could be 2, could be 5), I subtract I add again, for this one Yes and the other one No. And when things are hectic, I can’t trust myself. 🙂

    Remember, this is PRT-IB.

Btw, the tack-tack-tack-tack Invert can also be done via shortcuts. See 2nd attachment. But I am not so sure that will be faster because you first need to select the chart where you wish to invert position. And this would be VERY error-prone.
