Order place on charts but not visible?

    Hi,

    Would appreciate any help please. Whilst scalping the DOW today I placed an order using  deal through buttons on the chart.

    Weirdly my preset stop and limit lines appeared but no tradelevel entry line so i quickly clicked off those s/l lines and they disappeared. A short while later i noticed a running p&l at the top of the chart. When i looked in my IG account the open running positions box was empty and no sign of any trade in history at that point.

    With rising alarm, i closed and restarted my charts and saw that there was no sign of a running trade on the chart but the p&l number was still live. So i quickly opened the IG app on my phone, saw the live trade  and was able to shut it immediately, at a loss. The deal was now showing in history.

    This has never happened in 10 years. Any idea what has gone on here?

    IG support told me to clear cache etc ( i do this often) and said send in an email and they will try to get back to me in a week

    While I don’t know what could happened yesterday with orders at IG, I think that it could be related to the high volatility due to the vaccine news that could have lead to orders disorder somehow. I’ll try to know more and let you know. But IG will certainly give you more precision than me on your specific case.

    Well, I was unable to get more information on this sorry. You’ll have to wait the IG response to this.

    I heard back from IG who said there was a technical issue during that period. They have refunded the loss.

    Let’s hope it’s a one off, was scary to lose control of a trade!
