Opening Gap

High I am interested in trying to code a simple trading strategy using the 5 minute time frame. That you would buy the Dax on the close of the first 5 minute candle if there was a opening gap greater than 40 points. How do you bring the previous days close into the calculation. My thoughts? Dclose > open [40] David

If (Open > (DCLOSE(1) + 40 * Pipsize)) and (IntraDayBarIndex = 0) then

If (Open > (DCLOSE(1) + 40 * Pipsize)) and (IntraDayBarIndex = 0) then

this (not tested) checks that the opening of a candle is 40+ pips higher than previous day’s close on the first bar of any new day.
