    Hi!

I’m not new to investing and trading, though I’m not familiar with coding algos. However, this is something I really want to dig into at complement my longterm investments with. I have studied technical analysis and several trading strategies, privately as well as a part of my education. I have used PRT back and forth for a couple of years now, spending small amounts of money just to get to know the software and get a feeling for how to trade the larger indexes. Now I’d like to take it to the next level and start coding my own strategies.

I would really like to get some advice on where to start, maybe someone got a good beginner’s guide? Any advice at all on getting started is very much appreciated! 🙂

Hi Ricx, welcome on board. There are plenty of ideas/strategies already in the library for you to explore. You can also develop your own ideas and ask questions if you are not sure of something or if you are stuck in your process 🙂 You’ll find attach a system development process someone shared in the forum previously, but I don’t remember who and when, so greeting to him if he recognized his document 😉

Hi Ricx, I have no background in programming either but from my own experience I can tell that if you just take the time to follow and learn from other people’s codes it doesn’t take too long to get it. The most important is to have some kind of fixed method and the mindmap that Nicolas sent is a great example!
