Multiple Templates & Drawings on the same instrument query

    Hello All,

    I have a query with regards to templates, drawings, and indicators. I regularly trade the DAX but I am looking to create two templates – one for scalping around pivot points (Template 1) and another for longer trades based on volume (Template 2). The issue I’m finding is that I want to have drawings and S/R on Template 2 for the volume, but I don’t want those to show on Template 1 with the pivot points – is there anyway of doing this? i.e. the drawings etc belong to the template and not the instrument? I know you can turn drawings off in inferior timeframes, but the problem is I use the 1H and 4H to find supply/demand zones but trade from the 5-minute so want the drawings to show.

    Any help would be amazing.

    Thanks for your response.

    If I unlinked the charts, wouldn’t the drawings still appear on the DAX in Template 2 if it was the same timeframe?

    Try it and let us know please?

    You can try on your Demo Platform with a Test Template if you don’t want to mess up existing Templates.

    I gave it a try but when deleting trend lines, support and resistance etc on the DAX chart in one template, it also deletes them from the DAX chart in the other template. Ideally, I’d like those lines and drawings saved to the template, but for the chart to be blank in the other template – I thought that was kind of the point of the templates?

    Yes, unlinked (attached) but when you change templates and delete the lines/drawings, it deletes them from the original template. Seems the drawings are attached to the instrument and not the template?

    Hi,
    In V11 you will be able to configure your lines and objects to appear: only in the chart; timeframe/ lower timeframe/higher time frames…
    Simply with a right click on it then configure.

    I would suggest to wait for V11 which should come soon for IG.

    When is the release date for V11 please?

    It is impossible to make 2 different analysis on the same instrument with the existing one.

    The ProRealTime v11 is already available (1 year at least). IG hasn’t made the update yet. Ask them for the update schedule 😉
