HI, is my assumption correct that if I have two active ProOrder scripts, if one is currently active short that if the second opens a position long the short position is closed? and of course vice versa.

Hi,
No, your assumption is wrong because algos can’t exchange information with each other…
Hum, so LongOnMarket and ShortOnMarket only relate to the specific script not the account?
The manual is not very clear :-
“Indicates whether you have open long positions or not.”

Yes, all trading instructions are always related to the specific script, account information cannot be exchanged/read/used by an algo…
Well that is a bit pants 😉 I’ll have to combine both algos into the same script.
Do you know if LongOnMarket and ShortOnMarket persist between timeframes in the same script? or are different time frames effectively treated as separate scrips with immutable visibility of variables within the same script but different timeframes

Hi,
When you start an algo, in the ProOrder AutoTrading window, the algo is uploaded to PRT’s servers where it is further executed…
You can’t change anything about the algo after this, if you still want to make changes (whatever) the algo must first be stopped…
You can add different time frames to your script, for example a “faster time frame” for executing the orders… but it remains one whole (1 algo) … “LongOnMarket” and/or “ShortOnMarket” are not affected by different/multiple time frames and are independent of them…
I very much appreciate the time you have given to answer my questions, I have a last got my two scripts merged together and operating as expected during back test, they are now live for trading 🙂
Please excuse my inexperience with these tools, I learn quickly fortunately 😉
Good
Morpheous … I’m glad you’ve got an Algo running Live and also you have livened-up the Forums, it was getting
‘a bit dead in here’ before you arrived! 😉

No problem, it’s great that it worked out with your two scripts… indeed quickly picked up 🙂
Thanks, may the odds be ever in your favour 😉
