Hi.
Is it possible to use mtf trailing stoploss.
Im a fan of ATR-trailing stoploss.
For stategys of 1 h timeframe i want the trailing more active and responsive. Is it possible to use timeframe 5 min For trailing stoploss?
Yes, I almost always use that TF for my trailing stop.
You can use any TF you like (provided it is the default one and all the higher TFs are a multiple of 5, or it is a multiple of the default one).
Thanks Roberto.
Whats ur favorite trailing for 1 h strategy and 15 min strategy and wich lower timeframe do u use for theese trailings?
I always use a 5-minute TF (a few times I have used the 30-minute TF for strategies on a Daily TF).
I always use a version in PIPS.
My default timeframe is 15 min.
PRT says its not possible to mix that with timeframe 5 3 or 1 min?
I was looking for a lower timeframe for trailing stoploss
The higher TFs must be a multiple of the default one (which is the smallest one, the one displayed on your chart).
Is 15 a multiple of 1, 3 or 5? Yes, then you can use all of them as default TF for your trailing stop.
What am i missing?
Se attached picture
No, the SMALLEST TF must be the one on your chart!
So on your chart you need to set the 3-minute TF, then you can use any higher TF in your code, provided it’s a MULTIPLE of 3.
Write the strategy in
timeframe (15minutes, updateonclose)
and set over the trailing stop
timeframe (default)
… and then change to the time frame of your choice … M5 … M3 … M1 …
right Robertogozzi?
