MA Periods and PreLoadBars

  If my 1 hour TF System has a MA based (entry) on 500 periods and I leave the PreLoadBars at the default of 200 (?), does my System have to sit there for another 300 hours before there is any chance at all that it might trigger a trade?

  Default preloaded bars is 2000, not 200 as far as I know.

  Should it be 200 well… yes it should wait another 300 bars! It would be even better if an error message be reported.

  Thank you Roberto … it figures it’s not 200 (as I had thought) because my restarted Systems using MA[500] take trades within a few hours of starting (which is why I was asking).

  I searched on PRT website for v10.3 Programming Guide but can only find same for v 5.1.4 which states …

   By default this parameter is equal to 1000. It cannot be less than 0 or higher than 5000.

   I sent a query direct to PRT asking what is the default preload for v10.3

  If anybody can post a link for the v10.3 Guides it would be much appreciated

  Even the 195 Page PRT Software Manual (only one I found) does not state what version it is applicable to.

  It show a date of 22 Sep 2015 … no wonder newbies have issues with latest features etc??

  I just thought … maybe the v 5.1.4 is the version of the document / Guide and not the System the Guide relates to … well confusing anyway?

  Also on other areas of the PRT websites (the green website … how is that different from the blue web pages?)  I pulled different version Guides than the blue website.

  Weirder and weirder?? 🙂

  As far as I know (I did not read anything, I just remember post around here) 2000 is the default and 10000 is the maximum allowed, as of versione 10.3, maybe v11 will increase those value?
