i want some friends to use my algos but i wanna hide the code so they cant copy it or give it to someone els, is there an easier way then to divide the systems into indicator and system and use the call function?

If it is now a whole (algo including indicators) then you can also export the whole with the option “Code not editable”…

Your friends will be able to use the algo, but they won’t be able to change or read it…

i can backtest it but cant run it live cus it says: this trading system cannot be used for automatic trading because its code is not accessible

That’s strange, this option is specifically meant for it…

I would try again on Monday and otherwise send a technical report (Help=> Technical report)…

it also says: this trading system canot be used for automatic trading because its code is not accessible. when i read about it, it says this:
    • Choose the first option if you want the code to be modifiable after being imported.
    • Choose the second option if you do not want the code to be modifiable (note: hidden codes will not be usable for automatic trading).
    • Choose the third option if you do not want the code to be modifiable and only want the code to be importable one time (useful if you want to send the code to another user but don’t want them to be able to redistribute the code). so i guess it doesent work in automatic trading and i have to divide the systems

Did you try the 3rd Option (as stated above) to see if, after import, the code can be sent to Proorder / used for autotrading?

Why can you export a trading system when you can’t use it anymore … very strangely set up…

If it is only meant for indicators, you will have to take out everything that has to do with buying and selling (the system) and then call the “hidden” indicator (Call)…

    Sorry , for the confusion…

I agree, can’t see the point of it as it is set up currently? Could be it’s meant to work as we expect it to work, but nobody has ever told PRT it’s screwed up?? If you fancy telling PRT  SweZerk, send in the webform on the link below.  Include a link to this Topic, then you need only provide a brief description on the webform (link below). Let us know, on here, if you send the webform to PRT? https://trading.prorealtime.com/en/contact

    Hereby the reaction of PRT

“Hi Jaap, The reason someone can’t use a ‘hidden’ imported trading system in real life is because a trader always needs to have insight into what he is doing. He always has ownership over his OWN orders. If the underlying code is completely invisible, this is not possible. A workable solution for someone who wants to share things is indeed to keep the ordering instructions visible and NOT to keep the underlying signals (with hidden indicator CALL) visible. In this way, the trader retains ownership over the placement of the orders. Best Regards”

    it says this:
So we must assume the intention of Options 2 and 3 (see above Quoted post) is to be able to send code to a prospective purchaser so they can run the Algo on backtest to assist a decision to buy or not? Some vendors on MarketPlace do above with free trials.
