    or move your account to IG Switzerland where margin requirements (to the best of my knowledge) are 1/10 of what they are elsewhere

    0.5% on major indices and currency pairs

    Move IG Account or open a new IG Account in Switzerland?  Much hassle or just admin job??  Any searching phone calls from anybody?

    Are you still tax free on SpreadBetting with a Swiss Account??

    dont u need to live in Switzerland to avoid taxes if ur running spreadbetting?

    You don’t have to live in CH to open a CFD trading account. No hassle at all, same as opening an account anywhere else. When they jacked up the margin requirements in the UK a few years ago I went to IG Australia for a while, but then they fell in line with the EU regs. Switzerland is the only one that still has the old rates

    They don’t offer Spread Betting, which seems to be UK only

    I had to look up CH so to save others … Confoederatio Helvetica, meaning Swiss Confederation.

    So if we are lucky enough to make over £12,300 (FY 21/22 cap gains allowance) on CFD’s then we be paying tax on an IG Swiss Account.

    Anybody ever done / provided the calcs to HMRC for CFD trading?

    I’ve provided calcs to HMRC loads of times for share trading using the website below (works well), but I’d like to know … does it work for CFD Trading?
