Incompatible values of ADX indicator across different platforms

Hello everybody,

I just compared adx (14 days) with 4 different platforms, all of them showed different values.

PRT – 20.83

Interactive Brokers – 26.232

StockCharts – 21.24

Tradingviews – 17.27

(I attached screenshots)

Does anyone has an explanation for this?

Someone else asked a similar question yesterday.

There is always going to be some difference because they are not all using the same data sources and what you get out will always depend on what you put in. Having said that the difference pointed out in the other post were considerable so perhaps there is more to it.

There is also the possibility that the calculations are different of course. If you can provide the code for the other platforms calculations then perhaps Nicolas can compare to the calculation used by the PRT platform.

I have moved your topic from platform support to ProBuilder as it is really at the moment an indicator discussion. If it turns out to be a platform issue then we can always move it back.
