    Hi there!

I know many users asked how to add a custom coded indicator to the price chart, such as this message. That workaround won’t work for me, since I want to be able to add my indicator to the keyboard shortcut list. That way, I would be able to show it over the price chart once the shortcut is trigger.

    Thanks!

Click PRICE on the upper left corner of your chart, then ADD INDICATOR and select the indicator among those listed.

Thanks for the info, but as I said on my previous post, that workaround won’t work for me. I want to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to show the indicator over the price.

So I wanted to know whether there’s a piece of code that tells PRT to show indicators on price, as it does with Bollinger or SMA.

    Cheers!

Only some of PRT’s built-in indicators go directly on  the chart, not user’s.

    What a pity. Thanks, though!

Since we are all answering this question multiple times a week since many years, I totally agree with your comment 🙂 An instruction to tell the platform where to put the indicator (on price or below it) would be sooooo greatly appreciated! This is on my wish list, I hope it will be added anytime soon!

Am very surprised it is well known that there is no functionality to add users indicators to the price chart , and yet when users make reports about their inability to add indicators to the price chart,  there have been many responses that appear to be the solutions, knowing very well there is no such solutions,  and this has caused so much frustrations to many of us making following-up on tickets about this issues everyday.

In any case what is the use of allowing users to create their own indicators when you know this indicators cannot be added to the price charts?

    @jkadda
Indicators CAN be added on your price chart, despite the lack of a dedicated instruction, as you have read,

What do you mean by “In any case what is the use of allowing users to create their own indicators when you know this indicators cannot be added to the price charts?”?

Do you mean that a couple of additional clicks should have discouraged  839 users from writing a custom indicator?

    Hello Robertogozzi,

Please can you explain your own statement below with regards to the issues in this thread, because it appears your statement is so confusing and contracting your own opinion on this issues.

“Only some of PRT’s built-in indicators go directly on  the chart, not user’s.”

Meanwhile i have just noticed again that users cannot add their own created screeners also.

Please if you have solutions to this issues contrary to other views then can you do us a favour by providing screenshots or videos starting from creating the indicator all the way to adding it successfully to the price charts.  This way the issues will be laid to rest permanently.

    Thanks

I think you should watch some videos on this  forum and on the ProRealTime YouTube channel to discover the several tools of the platform:

    • screeners scan markets live and have nothing to do with charts
    • strategies automate trading and have nothing to do with charts
    • built-indicators go below or on your chart automatically
    • custom indicators only go below your chart, unless you add them on your chart according to the instructions you’ve already been given.
