I noticed backtesting on this forum going back 8+ years for EUR USD 15 minute chart.

    I only get +- 2 years.

    With IG Markets.

    Any ideas why?

The number of bars/candles that you can use in backtesting is limited to 100k bars which is the reason for the short backtest data available. With a PRT Premium account you get 200k bars. PRT v11 should have many more bars available but is still in beta testing and final numbers are not yet confirmed I guess.

    Thanks Vonasi,

With PRT11 I ear will have around 11M bars. It will be only for premium account? How many bars will have with IG Markets? There is any way to use IG Markets and PRT Premium right now?

    Thanks in advance

Not yet confirmed how and who will have that possibility. Currently it seems that it is for everyone, but I can not affirm it definitively.

There used to be a glitch where I managed to get a ‘bonus’ couple of months on the backtest by selecting ‘x minutes’ and then depending on the timeframe you want to test just do the following:

    1. Multiply your timeframe by 4 so if you want to test using 15m, then type in 60
    2. Once 60m is loaded type the timeframe of half that i.e. 30m and press enter
    3. Now type in your preferred timeframe and press enter.

I’m not sure if this still works in v10.3 but definitely used to work in v10.2

    Hi,

I’m using IG, any idea why I can’t get more than 2 days of data for USD/ZAR fx trading on the 1 minute charts?

Here is the answer of IG for this question (the answer is in French so I use google translate to show you in English) :

“Please note that currently your account does not allow you to have a ProRealTime premium account.
If you would like to have a ProRealTime premium account, please note that you can either close this account and open a new account directly with our sales team so that it is ProRealTime Premium upon opening, or open another independent account directly premium if you please keep your current account.

If you want to close your current account, simply make this request by email, and our sales team will contact you directly to open the other account.”

I used to have a normal ig and prt account, opened a new one thru prorealtime and got the premium account and they are my IB (introducing broker), meaning PRT will get a cut out of all my trading (thru the cost of trading that u already pay to ig.)

Got the 200K bar available and realized how curvefit all my systems was. Hoping with PRT 11 that some of my current systems will look good when/if i get 1m bars
