Graph Variable as "xyz" – Why??

  Why do we GRAPH variables … as “xyz” ??

  It appears to serve no purpose naming the Graphed variable as when I right click on the  Graphed variable line on a Chart then nothing shows / I can’t see the name of the variable as xyz ??

  I feel sure I’m missing something here??  🙂

  It actually serves almost no purpose.

  It may help if you GRAPH an expression like:

  GRAPH TradePrice + atr[10] * 2 AS “SL”

  1	GRAPH TradePrice + atr[10] * 2 AS “SL”

  where SL is a bit more clear.

  When you hover over the graph window (if using GRAPH) or hover over the chart (if using GRAPHONPRICE) it highlights the value and name of each line. Without using it the lines are just numbered in whatever order you graphed them and so difficult to identify.

  Surely this is another thing not working correctly (with PRT) and right  clicking should show the variable as “descriptor”??

  If I have several lines or when value = 1 etc then the only way I can determine which variable is which is if I make them different colours.

  But then I have to keep checking back in the code which colour is which … it’s like we find workarounds, but something is not working correctly??

  I just had an idea and turned on Cursor Details and the variable as “Decriptor” is shown in the Cursor Details box together with the value, but that still doesn’t help me see which line is which??

  Ha … Cursor Details does help in a way if the lines are different colours.

  Or are you seeing the Cursor Details Vonasi when you hover?
  I normally have Cursor Details turned off as it gets on my nerves! 🙂

  Cursor Details with Other Indicator Values only selected … much better as it doesn’t get on my nerves now filling the  screen! 🙂

  Sorry – been travelling for a couple of days and so haven’t had any time to launch the platform and test this. I may have been getting confused between indicators and GRAPH/GRAPHONPRICE. I will test when I finally stop somewhere and have time to spare!
