Expecting different Results

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Hi, This is where my story starts, I been in the trading business a good number of years and have primarily lost money(Very demoralising). Something had to change so I started reading books on trading and stumbled across a book called Trading Beyond The Matrix by Van Tharp which has pretty much set me on a different trajectory in my quest to improve my trading.

Apparently, finding a system that works and back testing the idea to make sure it gives you an edge in the market is key to success rather than trading off hunches. So I am at the back testing ideas stage but apparently that also presents its own challenge if you dont know how to code(life loves to throw one curveballs, dont you just love it lol). Anyways I am not a coder and someone over at IG was kind enough to direct me to this platform where I might find some help or pay for some help. Either way I now have to back test my ideas before trading some more as I would hate to declare myself INSANE.

New here so dont really know how the forum truly works in finding help, so if you are able to help with my needs or give me directions of how best to start solving my problem I am grateful already. That said, I like to be of help too so hopefully I can be of help to someone somehow along the way.
