Hi
On a Macbook Touchbar I’m often accidentally lightly touching the escape button in the top left of the touchbar.. this closes down lots of charts rapidly.
Is there anyway to stop “esc” doing this? It used to happen on the previous 17″ Macbook but not to the same extent as this sensitive button on the new Macbooks.

Hello,
There is no possibility to disable the escape button for the platform. This is a function on your computer that you can configure from your MAC.

Unfortunately after speaking with Apple there is no way I can move the Escape key in the Touchbar.
This has to be the most annoying and unnecessary feature of PRT. I have yet again (on a near daily basis) closed down multiple charts as my left hand, third finger hovered near the Esc key whilst I was typing using the 1 and 2 keys… Every time I have to quit PRT and not save and reboot PRT losing all my work.
What is the point of closing a chart down with an Esc key? There’s an x symbol that’s easy – it’s in the top left of every chart. I don’t have this problem with the Esc key in any other s/ware I’ve used in 18 years of being a Mac owner.
Hello Bard, I totally agree with you that the ESC key closing the graph is a pointless action. the ESC key is always meant to undo or interrupt the last function and not to do or close anything, in any software. I also have a macbook with touch, and I solved the problem using BetterTouchTool that basically can use different templates on the infamous touch bar, you will have to fight a bit for the ESC key to change position but you can get rid of it, google around in forums or will find it for you. Hi Rennieau, thanks for the tip, I may need to install this! And yes it’s only the PRT app that I have this issue with using the Macbook Esc key, and I agree, I can see absolutely NO reason to have it programmed so it closes PRT windows.
