DEMO TRADING STOPPED BY IG

    Just had an email from IG that they are stopping my demo cfd account and need to place my automatic trading systems to live account – anybody else experienced this from IG?

    How long you been running IG Demo only?  Were you aware that it is / was a trial?

    My understanding is that after 1 month (?) you need to open a Live account in order to continue running a linked Demo Account?

    About 2.5 months have set up live account but not traded – My auto trading systems show 92% in backtesting with 4 point spread to cover out of hours but when trading with IG realtime demo fall to 33 – 50%!! Hence still trying to find a system that works in real time!!

    50% winning trades is still good provided it’s a respectable ‘gain to loss ratio’ ?

    Have you funded your live account, but haven’t traded Live yet? I’m just trying to suss out what criteria IG have used to pick on you?

    Yes funded my account but not traded it possibly running demo for too long a period 2.5 months But wanted to try achieve at least 65% hit rate Best results are from my longer time frame of WEEKLY hence wanted to run demo for a longer time period as only 4 trades per month Thanks for your comment

    as i understand it

    you need to trade each month with IG manually or using proorder to have prorealtime for free

    did they not specify the conditions in the mail?
