Demo account gone with IG

    I had a PRT demo account for 2 months with IG, however I thought that if I got PRT for my life account that I could still use it on my demo acc.

    Unfortunately they removed my demo acc and can’t reactivate it, so I lost some strategies of which I didn’t have a backup.

    I also wanted to forward test a system for 6 months or so, but I won’t be able to now.

    Is there a way I can use PRT on my IG demo account or a demo account with another party (maybe directly via PRT?) without having it removed within 2 months?

    It’s pretty dumb that I have to keep creating demo accs every two months to test my strategies on demo, even though I use the real version on my live account. I would understand if I didn’t get the live version, but this doesn’t make sense to me.

    It happened to a lot of our members in December. There are other topics about the closure of demo accounts, the biggest one is: Merry Christmas from IG!

    You should ask IG to re-open your demo account if you are a “good customer” 😉

    Have you activated Demo PRT on your IG Live Account?

    That may sound daft. but I’m sure there is a box you need to tick to get Demo PRT??

    No I have the real live version of PRT. I chatted with their support team and they said there’s ‘no way’ reactivate my PRT account. I think I’m going to give them a call tomorrow and get a Dutch support person on the line.

    Have you clicked the Activate Demo PRT button at the red arrowheads on attached??
