CYCLE Stretching indicator

I need help coding an indicator that will draw a half moon shape between lows that can be stretched to different distances between the ends of the half moon. Many Thanks if anyone can help.

Seems interesting .. do you got an example of what you want to be drawn exactly on chart? since this kind of shape request it is not so “usual”? 🙂

It would be similar in shape to the Fibonacci arc available on PRT already. If we could ‘stretch’ the arcs to different lengths we could add an overriding arc with smaller arcs inside.

Drawing circles is only possible with version 10.3. Even with your explanation, I still don’t see clearly what you want to be drawn.. Maybe a picture of this drawn by hands on a chart would be clearer. Thank you.

In order to help you, may I ask you where could I find a moon phase formula? Or are you able to share it here? Please give us the more informations possible, otherwise it could take a long time for me to code your request 🙂

There is a forum thread on forex factory titled ‘planetary cycle trading’ that has a few indicators in .mq4 files regarding moon phases. Also the cycle brackets on ‘think or swim’ are what I’m looking for.

Yes Nicolas of course Planetary Cycles Trading (EUR/USD) – Page 126 @ Forex Factory this is the page with the indicators there is one listed as moon phases. Cycle Brackets – thinkorswim Learning Centre this is the written description of cycle brackets. Attached image of cycle brackets being used on a chart, a use for this would be when major and minor cycles finish at same time then major trend change?

No sorry. If I understand clearly, we have to set a start date and then the indicator will draw these half-ellipses shapes on chart (with different weeks periods)?

As I told you already, these shapes are only possible in version 10.3. There will be also a problem with the “cut” of the ellipse since we cannot find with code what is the lowest price displayed on the chart. So we’ll need here to define too at what price the shape will begin.
