    Hi there,

Total newbie here so I apologise for anything that sounds really basic. I’ve been trading for a while and automated trading really appeals to me (who wants to stare at charts really?)

I am trying to automate the manual system I’ve been using which is a very simple EMA Crossover on the DAX on the 10 Min chart. I am happy i’ve sorted the Entry and Exit’s but what I would love some help with is the following….

I would like to construct a piece of code that tells my system to quit trading for the day if any one trade makes 100 points profit or more (not limited to 100 points) in that day, and only begin trading the following day at my ‘Trade” hours. Basically, mimic me deciding thats enough for the day and closing the laptop!

    Make sense? I hope so.

Thanks in advance. Love this site, really cool bunch of people helping each other.

Do the order must be already closed with 100 points profit or can it be still on market when to decide to stop everything? (important point).

    Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I’d like the system to stop trading once 100 points profit is banked (trade closed)

There is this excellent piece of code you can find it here in the blog : profit and loss per day

You’ll find it easily to add into your own code,
