Hi I would like some help with being able to understand the longer term trend on my charts.

I trade daily and want to have the ability to visually see what the monthly trend is doing at any time.( Very visual person)

My idea is to use the 5sma on a monthly as a basis for setting the background colour on a daily chart. I have set my sma up so when it turns down the sma shows red and when it turns up it shows green. I do understand that the background may switch backwards and forwards on a daily basis until the trend sets in one direction.

Can someone help me with what I need to do to code this as I have no idea where to begin.

You can’t now, since ProBuilder does not allow MTF, Multiple Time Frames.

But this will change shortly as you can read here https://www.prorealcode.com/topic/multi-timeframe-mtf-indicators-for-prorealtime/.

MTF support is coming for indicators too.

We still don’t know exactly when so… stay tuned!

Thanks for the reply.

I did raise a support ticket about this and they said it should be possible but I guess it isn’t just now.

I hope the update wont be long in the making.

I will wait with baited breath….
