the “xx” is a value added to the stop – to stop spikes – so what ever the opposite high/low level was (which now becomes the stop level) “xx” pts will be added
Strat has opened a Buy Stop Order on the DAX at 13110 which is 1 point above the highest point reached between times below. I can’t figure out how it is working as I was expecting the 16 points to feature somewhere!!? 🙂
But it’s logical amyway as if it gets past that ‘highest high’ then we have a good breakout and it’ll probably whoosh onwards and upwards and make us enough to buy, well … a round of drinks!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
begintime=070000
endtime=083500
XX=16
any thoughts on how the stop could be manually written rather than it just taking the opp high/low?
would be handy for back testing to enter a max stop as it seems to run some pretty hefty stops on larger time frames…or maybe a maximum stop?
12 hours away from the screen (and no tv on while looking at the code! 🙂 has done me good … it’s straightforward how the Strat works and the xx value features in the exit stops (sell / exitshort).
andy6t6 you say … any thoughts on how the stop could be manually written rather than it just taking the opp high/low? … I take it you mean exit stops? Well you could just use below?
SET STOP PTRAILING xx
OR
SET STOP PLOSS xx
