If I have several complex Indicators open, then after BackTest and while / after results load then there are additional horizontal bars loading across my screen for some of my Indicators (Indicator name shows against the horizontal bar).

Mostly I Backtest with no complex Indicators showing, but I’d like to be to see how Trading Strategy buys/ sells align with various Indicators, but this slows down the final results appearing on my screen.

My question is this … would a higher spec computer speed-up …

    1. Optimisation of settings (using n, n1 etc in place of settings etc)?
    2. Calculation of Complex Indicators (over for example 100,000 bars) during backtest.

The answer might seem obvious (Yes to 1. and 2. above) but if both 1. and 2. above are carried out on the Platform server (back at IG in my case) then a more powerful PC will not make much difference?

Hope above makese sense, if not just say and I will explain more.

    Any discussion / comments welcome.

    Thanks

I think it is mostly graphical issue here. You can limit graphical improvements into the platform options (3D candlesticks, background color, anti-aliasing..)

Of course, a better computer can help, because it will compute more efficiently informations received from server.
