Backing up drawn objects from charts

    Hi,

    I’m sure this has been asked before, but I cant find a post.

    I have spent weeks drawing trendlines and S/R lines on my charts. If one day these were to disappear, I would be very upset. Is there a way to save the chart object data for future recovery, as well as the other personal PRT settings?

    Also, is this data something that can be copied from a demo to a live account. Currently I am testing the demo.

    Save as a Template … under File, Save as … is the only way I know.

    No, but the data should be the same on Demo vs Live? What data are you talking about anywat?

    If by data you mean your trendlines etc then No … templates can’t be exported from Demo to Live. However, I think a future release of the Platform is planned to make this possible?

    Thanks for the reply.

    By data I mean the drawn objects on my charts. It would be really nice to be able to import this into a live account in the future. I hope they make this possible. So what happens if IG closes my demo account, I lose everything?

    I hope this feature will be soon available!

    It will be useless if you migrate from CFDs to FUTURES or viceversa, but if you import any saved set (S&Rs,Trendlines and all other graphic object drawn on any chart and TF) to an account of the same type (maybe real and demo, or from my real account to my daughter’s,….) it would spare us many hours!

    Hello,

    Please note that all the changes are saved server-side and indeed it is possible to restore your platform settings within a certain date.

    GraHal is right, manually is not possible to copy the platform settings from Demo to Live however you can ask your Broker IG to do so.
