For three days now I have been trying and failing to run back tests of any length. About 20 minutes is all I get before the dreaded “encountered a problem and had to close” dialogue comes up. I use to run 2 or 3 back tests simultaneously. Now I can’t even run one.

I’ve tried re-launching PRT countless times as well as rebooting the PC. No avail. Also tried the same tests and WFs with other algos – makes no difference.

Anyone else getting this or PRT just doesn’t like me?

I think that can be caused by a drop in internet connection.

When next it happens check you have two greens  … see the red arrowheads on attached.

Yes, sometimes it’s that, but mostly the connection is fine and it just refuses to complete. I’m on an ethernet connection with 40mbs/18mbs download/upload speeds. Shouldn’t be a problem

It happens to me sometimes, I guess over the years I have accepted it.

I find closing PRT Platform after a particularly heavy backtest session helps get less problems. Backtest always seems faster when I log back in.

It’s loads better than it was 2 years ago, loads of us used to freeze up and Platforms would crash very regularly.
