Automated trading with ProOrder and IB is now possible for everyone! I am excited to announce that the long-awaited feature of automated trading on the Futures market is finally here! Our favorite trading software now allows users to fully automate their strategies, making it easier than ever to take advantage of market opportunities and manage their risk. With this feature, users can now set up their trading strategies, including entry and exit points, stop-losses, and profit targets, and then let the software execute trades on their behalf on the Futures market. I believe that this new feature will be a game-changer for many of our users and I am excited to see how it can help them achieve their trading goals. ProOrder is an automated trading feature offered by ProRealTime. With ProOrder, users can create and execute trading strategies based on their own technical analysis and codes built especially to be used with ProRealTime. These strategies can include rules for entry and exit points, stop-losses, and profit targets. ProOrder also allows users to backtest their strategies using historical market data and optimize their parameters for better performance. Once a strategy is set up, ProOrder can automatically execute trades on the user’s behalf, allowing for more efficient and consistent trading. This can be useful for traders who wish to take advantage of market opportunities without having to constantly monitor the markets. Where to find automated strategies for ProOrder? There are many free codes available on ProRealCode forums (ProOrder sections) and in the Library. There are also paid strategies that can be purchased on the ProRealCode marketplace. What is Interactive Broker and why is it different from the current automated trading feature available? Interactive Brokers (IB) is an online brokerage firm that provides trading and investment services to individuals and institutional clients. The company was founded in 1978. Bascially, it is a broker that provide trading on Futures market and therefore uses different fees and margin requirement. Hello Simon,

If you are sure that you don’t have an open position on the TRY mini already, or that you have started (running) another system for the RTY Mini already, then it has to be a bug on PRT’s side.
I don’t recognize that there is still a limit for position amount on anything, because that would present the same message if so. Just in case : did you try 1 contract only ?

Easiest would be to just call your local support with this. It will be an easy fix.

I just attempted it myself, and indeed it does not work.
On Monday I will call about it myself too. Or I will make an email for them right away …

FYI : The Micro (M2K) does work.

Hello

When i try to enable multiple trading system on the same instrument i get the alert “… you can only execute one strategy at a time on this account…”, moreover once i start a trading system there is no chance to send manual orders on the same instrument.

I find this very limiting also because other traders told me that they don’t have these limitations with IB with different platforms.

Are there any development in roadmap to solve this issue?

FYI: You must try to find other traders that can trade multiple systems (including normal Manual) for the same (sub-)account !
In other words, with e.g. 5 (sub)accounts you can trade 5 different systems – also with PRT that works.

is there any guide that explain how to add a subaccount? I tried every section from my IB portal but couldn’t find it. This one: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/software/ptgstl/gsptg.htm#topics/ptgsubaccounts.htm doens’t work to me, I can’t find the same sections

If I recall it correctly, you must call your local support (in Italy) and have it done for you. They will do that for PRT and IBKR.
You still must fill out a 100 forms. ;-(

Let us know whether things changed and you can do it all yourself these days, OK ?

Good morning, the dynamic stop is not yet possible in the prorealtime interactive brokers, I am trying to put it in micro mini S&P500 full0324 and it won’t let me, thank you.

Hello Manuel,

This is known. They say it is “in the works”, but I tend not to believe someone is really working on it. And otherwise we would like to know the progress after more than e year of claiming this. 🙂

I could say : make your own “dynamic stop” (I assume you mean Trailing Stop, right ?). But this is far from easy unless you are a very experienced programmer (coder) and know a lot of the programming language of ProRealTime. In this realm, please notice that nothing which would work with PRT-IG will work with PRT-IB. This is not easy to explain, but for others with the relevant experience : forget even about pending order types, because more than 50% chance that IBKR will choke on the order or at least does not respond in time, so that the communication itself will choke and PRT will kick out your System.

Now you also have the reason why no Trailing Stop will (ever ?) work. But that is just my idea about it.

I am using these for many months. As a matter of fact, all the regular Fx pairs work. E.g. all with CHF.
But a hint meanwhile : depending on your strategy, most are not much usable because of a too large spread. So never forget to investigate that in advance ! (and take CHF as an example)
