Hello,

I have been using ProRealTime for a while now and am very happy with it. I now want to automate a system that I have been using manually for a few months.

I have a few questions around the setup with IB:
1. I know IB resets their platform every 24hrs. Is this taken care of with ProOrder since the strategies are running on the serverside?
2. What is the price difference between ProRealTime and IB on instruments i.e. EUR/USD? How close would the backtest results be had I run the system on IB over the same period?
3. How does updating lot sizes work if the automated strategy is running? i.e. increase lot sizes from 10k to 20k
4. Can I link ProOrder with the IB papertrading account?
5. Can I link my existing IB account with ProOrder?
6. Can I connect more than one IB account to ProOrder?
7. How do I setup ProOrder with IB?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be sure before taking the leap.

Well, there is only one answer to all of your questions. ProOrder is not yet supported with Interactive Broker. Automated trading is only possible with CFD accounts with IG or PRT-CFD.

It will certainly be possible in the future, but I don’t know how and when! sorry.

Thanks for the update, that is a real shame as IB is a great reputable broker.

How is PRT and auto trading with IG markets? IG does not have the best reviews and hence my skepticism…

Agree – I have heard sketchy reports about IG fading and trading against people? Has anyone had experience of PRT order trading with IG?

Been trading with ig for a few years, so far its been good. Quick replies when sending mails or chatting with them. The event that happened a few weeks ago was kinda scary tho, didnt like that. wrote a post bout it.
