    Hi,
I created an alert to be alerted when the price crosses the extra trend indicator (the blue dotted line on the screenshot). Yesterday the open price was at 31.25 and it closed at 32.225, while the indicator is at 31.4874, so the price and the indicator definitely crossed yesterday. But I didn’t get the notification. Any idea why ?
For the record, I used to have the “verification of validity” set to “real time”. At that time I was getting several alerts during the day as the price could move around the indicator value, that’s why I switched to “current bar close”. But now, I don’t get any alert at all.
    thanks

Have you tried switching back to as above to check that it is to do with ‘current bar close’?

Is your platform on or off when you are getting alerts or not?

    Hi,
no I haven’t tried to set it back to real time.
I used to get alerts whether the app was running or not. If it was running, then I would get them in real time. If it was off, then I was getting the alerts at the next startup of the platform.
I just got 2 alerts today, when the stock exchange closed, which makes sense, but I wanted to get the alerts yesterday, not today.
I’m attaching a screenshot where you can see that the price crossed the blue dotted line (called ReCT) yesterday AND today. I don’t get why I haven’t been alerted yesterday

When you selected Real Time Alert

    1.   Did you see the attached notice when you set up your alert?  Attached says ‘All Crossings’ defaults to > and we only get 1 notification then we have to reset.

When you selected current bar close / end of bar

    2.    Are you expecting / wanting offline Alerts?  Attached 2nd image says we cannot have offline Alerts with current bar close.

Hope this helps you determine why you are not getting what you want?

Unless I missed it, you don’t say what PRT version you are using.  Attached screenshots are from v11 as I have my Live Platform open.

    > Did you see the attached notice when you set up your alert?

No, never. I tried to create a new alert, and I didn’t get. And if I edit my alerts, they are all still set to “All crossings” and not to “>”.

the error message you showed, I never saw it.

here is what I want: let’s say that the stock exchange closes at 6PM. Then current period will close at 6PM. If during the day, the price crossed the indicator, I want to be alerted at 6PM if PRT is running, or the next time I’ll start it. What is happening right now, is that I’m alerted not on the D-day at 6PM, but at D+1 at 6PM which I can’t explain. This is what I showed on the screenshot of my message of 11/03/2023 at 6:22 PM

WE need to establish a baseline  …

    What version are you running?
    Live or Demo?

What Timeframe is the Chart on which you set the Alert.

Is the Indicator available to me or is it bought off MatketPlace?

How are you wanting to be alerted … on screen, audible alert or email or SMS.

I am asking above as the easiest is for me to set the same Alert that you set and I see what I get?

they are all still set to “All crossings” and not to “>”.

I read the screen message that ‘all crossings’ will still show but the result will be as if you had set it to > and also only 1 Alert ONLY will be sent (then no more Alerts.)

(Anybody else please feel free to jump in here and add your thoughts to help benkunz )

I’m running prorealtime complete. The free version but I’m testing realtime data for 2 weeks. hope this answers your question whether I’m using live or demo.
timeframe is set to 1 day.
I bought the indicator, it’s called extratrend.
Not sure I could receive an SMS, but that’d be great, otherwise, onscreen or audible alert.

    > I read the screen message that ‘all crossings’ will still show but the result will be as if you had set it to > and also only 1 Alert ONLY will be sent (then no more Alerts.)
that sucks. Do you remember where you read that ?

real time data just expired, so I only get end of day data.
I’m also attaching a screenshot hoping this could clarify things

On the screenshot I posted  a few posts above.  I’ve attached it again.

Oh yeah, but the thing is that I never received those warnings

An alert always arrives one bar late. In your case thus one day too late.
I did not check it today, but I saw the complaint numerous times come by, so I guess it is still so.

    > An alert always arrives one bar late

no, not always. Yesterday I received an alert just like when I expected it. See the attached screenshot.
I receive end of day data. Verification of validity was set to “real time”. the price crossed the indicator during the day, and I got the alert at the end of the day at 22:05, so not one bar late.

    alerts are driving me nuts

Real Time Alerts arrive in real time, I use them loads every day, could not manual trade without them. I just double checked my statement! 🙂

For the record … I just set a ‘current bar close’ Alert and I got the audible Alert at close of current bar / open of next bar (msecs between the two occurences).

OK, I will remember that for the next time. 🙂
Still benkunz has a kind of similar situation (some times ? often ?).
