Hello
Anyone having problems with PRT not opening positions today in IG account? i have several system that suppose to open trades none of them did.
Mine seems to be working okay … as in plenty of positions opened and closed etc.
Good profits too, I’m pleased to say … and all my own work from coding yesterday! It can’t last!? 🙂
I am referring to Demo above. Are you asking about Demo or Live Platform?

I have a system running on Dax with 0.5 size and max position size 1
have been working for weeks with 0.5 trades in proorder
but to day it opens up 1 contract instead of 0.5??
(and i have traded 0.5 manually today)

mine was live , when i backtest the strategy it opens trade today but did not open live today.
Is it due maybe spread difference between backtest and Live?
What Market and what time did the trade not execute in Live an what spread have you got set in your backtest??

same spread in market and backtest one system was suppose to open 06.00am and the other one 09.45am all conditions are ok and backtest confirms these opening times. maybe it is something with summer/vinter time ?
i do notice that on gold in IG plattform there is now daily candle for sunday however it PRT plattform there is and the data shoud be the same
same spread in market and backtest
Live Market is often a variable spread whereas backtest is a fixed spread.
So is it Gold where your trades were not executed in Live? Is Gold a 24/7 fixed spread in Live?

gold and oil is fixed spread 24/7
Hello,
The only way to check and analyze your issue in this case is to send a technical report with your code.
The IG staff will revert to you once the analysis has been completed.
Have a great day!

Hi Jakub
Any reason why i cant set max position size in proorder less than 1?
IG have changed the min size to 0.2 on Dow and on Dax 0.5
I like to test strategies live on real account with small size instead of demo but i dont want to risk more than the size i have in the code
(had a picture but cant attach but you probably know what i mean?)
Eric, just make sure your code specifies the position size you want (eg 0.2 for Dow), then enter max position size of 1 when you launch the code on live.
That’s what I did anyway, and it does indeed open positions as per the code in live (0.2).
