    Hi All,

When you import a strategy that has been created by someone else oftentimes they will have certain indicators that are not on your original template. Is there a way in which you can add the indicators represented in the strategy with the correct settings etc automatically or is it a case of having to review the code and identify the correct indictors and settings used?

    Kind regards,
    Plaedies

The default settings of the indicator will be set by default and not the ones that are set into the strategy. What would happen if you import X strategies with X different settings? What would the indicator should used as settings in this case?

If the strategy has been used in Forward Test and you can get the .itf that was Forward Tested then it should contain the Indicator complete with required settings.

Even then though various bits of code may have to be rem’d out, for example ‘Draw Text’ etc.

    Thank you @GraHal

Is there a way to backtest more than 100,000 candles? I have a fairly decent strategy that appear to do well both with tick by tick and spread include but certainly dont want to get ahead of myself with 100,000 minutes worth of backtesting?

    Best wishes,

Yes – take a Premium PRT account which gives you 200k candles. Testing your strategy that you developed on 100k candles on an extra 100k candles is a great in sample and out of sample test. Having said that 200k minutes is still not a lot of history. v11 offers much larger data samples but it is currently not possible to trade live with auto strategies using it as currently that is not supported by any brokers.

Check out the link below … this is V11 on a Direct to Exchange basis?

If you want to use PRT ‘with trading’ then at the moment there are two options – via Interactive Brokers or via IG index.

Of those two options IG are the only ones that currently allow automatic trading and only via the v10.3 platform.

In case you are confused Plaedies (cos I am ! 🙂 ) the link below mentions the PRT Complete version, Premium Version and even a Mobile Version!

    https://www.prorealtime.com/en/complete-version

Folks have asked on here, but as far as I’m aware … nobody has ever mentioned a mobile version of PRT?

PRT can be used just to keep an eye on the markets in which case no broker is necessary and you can pay PRT for whatever market data feeds you wish to look at. Some banks etc provide it like this as a bonus product to their customers. If however you want to manually trade via PRT then you have to connect it to a broker that allows you to do this – IB or IG. If you want to use automatic trading then you must connect it to IG.

Vonasi … in what way does PRT Complete version differ from PRT Premium?

I have looked at the relevant pages on the website several times over the years, but given up feeling kinda confused.

Beats me why PRT don’t do a comparison table so we can see at a glance main features compared?

If you click on the ‘Real Time Premium version’ on the page that you last posted a link to it explain all the benefits of Premium over Complete.

explain all the benefits of Premium over Complete.

So is the version most of us use (v10.3 and / or v11 ) called the Complete version??

If Yes, then my confusion is over!! 🙂

I thought the Complete version is needed to run Direct to Exchange data??

To round this off, I’ll answer my own question …

There are 3 version of PRT … Complete, Premium and Mobile.

The link below provides a handy comparison  of historical data available on Complete vs Premium.
