CustomClose is a constant in ProBuilder language that represents the closing price of a security. It can be customized in the settings window of the chart to represent different types of prices constants based on user preference (MedianPrice, TotalPrice, ..). The default setting for CustomClose is the standard closing price of the security at the end of a trading session.

Syntax:

CustomClose[N]

Where N is an optional integer index specifying the number of periods back from the current period. If N is omitted, it defaults to the current period’s closing price.

Example:

myCustomClose = CustomClose[1]

This example assigns the closing price of the previous period to the variable myCustomClose.

  • The CustomClose constant is particularly useful in creating flexible trading strategies or indicators that need to reference closing prices from different periods or sessions.
  • Adjusting the CustomClose setting allows traders to experiment with different definitions of ‘close’, such as the last price before a major news announcement, or an average of the last few minutes of trading.
