    Hi there,

Has the set to default chart setting been moved in v11 I can’t find it anywhere?

    Cheers!

Hello, if you are looking for the way to set a template as the default one on v11, this is done through the Settings – Price window (right click on a chart > Settings Price) and using the drop-down menu called “Configuration” at the top right of the window.

The green “+” is used to create a new template and naming it, and the floppy disk icon to save changes to the current one: you can create a Default template and save it there.

    Hi @RafaelN,

Thanks, I’ve named a template but still don’t see how to “”set it?”

Every time I open up a chart from my Watchlist it opens a 3 hour chart with 3 indicators (wrong one) when I want a daily chart with 10 indicators panels instead — the one I’ve just named today. The old version there was a very simple way to set any of your charts to the default. I don’t see the word Default anywhere in settings?

Also now having named my day chart, it’s candlesticks have changed from green and red to red and blue?

    Cheers,
    Bard

Bard … see attached … any help?

    Do you see the same?

    #181385

Hi @GraHal, if Im using Proscreener for example and I want to open a new chart and hit the plus button on the left of the asset name in PS, it opens up a 3 hour chart (of about 10 charts in my template). I want it to open a daily chart that has the actual indicator that my PS is scanning for. Does that make sense?

    #181719

Does anyone know where this default chart setting is? Cheers!

    #181734

    Do you see the same?

So the default chart setting I show you on my screen shot above is not the default chart setting you are looking for??

    #181737

Hey @GraHal, I don’t see a default template on my Load Templates but that is not what I am after. I want to be able to open a daily chart instead of a 3 hour chart which I keep having to change it too. In my screenshot I click on US 500 (right 3 hr chart in image) and get a 3 hour chart that I don’t want instead of the daily chart (left chart in image). It used to be dead simple just deciding which of the many charts (not templates) you want to choose from, not anymore?!

    #181739

Set up your Charts the way you want them, then go File > save as and name whatever you wish … Bard1 maybe.

Then when you want that set of charts again, just go File > Load Bard1

Would above not give you what you want?

Cheers, but as I keep mentioning I’m not interested in creating a new charts template, I have many! I would like to be able to go to:

ProScreener, Watchlist or any of the other ways to launch a SINGLE chart and for that chart to be the chart I actually want to use!

Not a small half size 3 hour chart with 2 or 3 indicators that PRT always DEFAULTS too and opens but a full height, fully loaded (indicator wise) chart (that I actually have 4 of showing Daily/3Hr/1Hr/10 Mins time frames). I don’t know how else to describe what I am simply trying to do but in which PRT thwarts me!?

Before you open the Screener, have showing the Chart (type) you want to see for a Screener result.

Save this Chart type as Template – BardScreener / whatever.

Keep BardScreener open then Open and run a Screener, Click on a Screener result … what do you see when you hover over the PRT icon on the TaskBar … far right Chart / new Chart opened for the result of the Screener which you clicked on??

I have no idea how to save an individual chart and make it my default. That is what I’m asking here. You used to be able to do it with something like a “make this default chart” but I don’t know where that is anymore? I didn’t follow the bit about the icon/taskbar, where is that your referring to? Are you saying that for V11 you have to now create a template name for the individual chart?

    #181798

    Hi @RafaelN,

Have PRT removed the “make chart default” from the individual chart settings? I cant find it anywhere and it’s wasting a lot of time having to keep modifying the 3 hour chart (I don’t want) and load the right indicators on it and set it to daily every time I just want to see a ProScreener result…
I have many chart layouts savind in many different templates, but I just need to be able to set ONE chart to default from any of the charts open in any of the multitude of templates I have.

    Cheers,

    Hey Bard,

In attachment 1 you see two instrument charts. A left-hand one and a right-hand one. In the right-one you see the mouse arrow under a little green chain. In the left-one that chain is blue.

In the 2nd attachment you see the main menu and again a chain (green in this case) and the drop down “menu” you see there, appears when you click on that chain.

I assume that you are still there, because this is a kind of long-ish. 🙂

The chain color I choose in a selectable list (like the main menu will show a list from the Search result) – thus green in my example, will load “sets” of whatever you want. On a side note it is my promise that after months of working with this, you may still find new ideas. Just like I deliberately looked for a solution to your problem. It is NOT intuitive, and it can do a LOT. All right …

In the right-hand chart you can see a golden number (89,000 in this case). This lacks in the left-one. It is an indicator and in the left-one I removed that WHILE the chain was set to blue by me. If I from now on select a blue chain from that “list”, like a Screener result is also a list, it will not show that golden number.
Each of such a color can contain a “set” of whatever settings for a chart, and when a chart is asked for with that color, it will load those whatever settings.

The chain thingy is enormously powerful because you can set as many “forms” of charts as you want to the same color, and a selection from the list (which also bears a color) will always load all the “frames” with that instrument. Hard to explain but just create 3 charts with a different TimeFrame, give them all the color e.g. Red, set your screener self-made list also to red, and each selection you make from *that* screener list, will load the 3 charts with the different timeframes (thus for the same instrument). Or the 3 charts with the same instrument each with different indicators.

One important hint : “Unchain” each chart you want to persist on your monitors or else it will load something else per the descriptions I just gave.  See the first option in the 2nd attachment, which is an open chain. The 3rd attachment shows 3 charts I have permanently on-screen, and they all bear open chains.

    Eh, good luck ?
    Peter

Hey @PeterSt, thanks for the explanations. I don’t have an option to see different coloured chains? Pls see image:
I finally found that default setting there (it’s in the image), so thanks, now at least I can open the chart I want for the ProScreener type of indicator I have!

    Cheers,
    Bard
