    Hi,

I am curious, what market segment does PRT Algo targeting?  Is it mainly for retail traders who want to get their feet wet in the area of algo?  Is there any professional trading houses uses PRT for algo?  How does PRT Algo compare to WealthLab and Multicharts ?

    Any thoughts are welcome

There are well over 1,000,000 users worldwide, here’s a general overview …

A few of us on here think Auto-Trading on PRT is ‘the poor relation’ to manual trading worldwide.

Doesn’t answer your question I know, so if you find out more let us know!? 🙂

Both type of traders. I encountered many professionnal with rather big accounts using ProOrder.

Thanks.  Its quite surprising big money invest big on PRT.  The codes are just too proprietary.  Once PRT company decide to call it a day out of the blue then all the hard work is gone.  But its interesting to see good mixture of both!

    What is big money ?
What is “a rather big account” ?
    What is a professional ?

Think about this carefully before  making (wrong) conclusions. 🙂

That too; this is only registered users. Same as registering on a forum and never return.
IG (the only available for autotrading until “yesterday”) has (IIRC) 290,000 customers.

I read that PRT algo has problem with Trailing stops?  Other than that what other limitations does PRT algo have?

    #209275

    Big accounts = 6 zeros.

There is no “problem” with trailing stop. The SET STOP TRAILING instruction we all used since years set a trailing stoploss activated and managed by the broker, and in this case by IG. So, we want IB to manage the trailing stop the way it is currently with thousands of clients strategies since years. It means development on IB side and it is currently in progress. Because we didn’t want to wait more time before the feature delivery, it is currently not possible to use the SET STOP TRAILING instruction (but it will!!). In the meantime, you can use one of the trailing stop soft coded versions available in the forums.

    Did I miss something?
    SET STOP TRAILING
Works as backtest as well as in live?

Definetely with IG, but not yet with IB (Interactive Broker) accounts (soon hopefully).

In any case, it works in backtests.
