    Hi

I’m thinking to buy a tablet/laptop to run PRT on. Does anyone here in this forum recommend Microsoft Surface Go 3 4GB/8GB??

Or any other recommendation? Max 11″ !!!

I bought in Sept 2022, a gamer ASUS ROG LAPTOP and I am very happy with the same. The laptop has 6800 AMD 5 Series, 16GB RAM, 512GB, over 17 inch screen. This is more than enough to run the application smoothly – I have used up to 10 charts simultaneously and all indicators load speedily. Cheers!

    Thx jonpt88

That is similar to my desktop.

    Now I want “expand” to a smaller tablet/laptop at MAX 11″ !!!!

This is not any recommendations (may serve as yardstick…) but right now I am using an old macbook pro of 13 inches with only dual core i5, 4gb ram and very basic graphics and it working properly (of course not as smooth as a gaming pc, but it is usable) it gets a bit hot when too much volatility. If you happen to get the surface of 8gb ram and i5 maybe? would be good if you share your experience. ;).

    Hi

Interesting comment. Then I guess Surface Go 3 with 8 GB RAM is a lot better than the version with just 4 GB? With Intel® Pentium® Gold 6500Y Processor ??

I would skip the intel gold processor.

I have been thinking about getting a tablet as I need my PRT framework for my system and would be great to have access to it everywhere. However, ideally what I need is an smartphone for that. Windows smartphone were compatible with java. I am waiting for net generation of microsoft surface tablets or asus or lenovo (something below 500 with let’s say intel core 5 some 8GB ram) that should suffice to run PRT (not with 10 charts but no need when it comes to portability).

    FYG: currently running PRT here:

    2,4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

    4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Intel Iris 1536 MB

(using external curved monitor and 4 charts).

Well, not easy to skip that processor as it is what is on offer here in Sweden ;>)

    #206465

that should be better than this, then: 2,4 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5

    OK

Then what tablet/laptop max 11″ has a better processor?

I am waiting for that to be released. I checked and checked and did not find anything within my desire price range for portability purposes. We shall remain patient and wait for the CES2023.

    Did you buy it finally?

    Hi

No, I think I’ll go for a 11-12″ laptop with touchscreen. I’ve found a Lenovo at an interesting price but with Chrome OS. Do you know if PRT works under Chrome OS or just Windows?

I think only windows but not sure.

A late follow up in this topic of anyone still is interested.

I tried the Microsoft Surface for one week. It worked very good but was a bit fiddly to use so I returned it.

Instead I bought a Lenovo 9″ tablet and use Chrome Desktop Remote. Well, that is bit fiddly as well but it works as well as the Surface. The reason for using the 9″ tablet is simply this: You can use PRT in the same way on both the Surface and the tablet BUT the tablet is 80% cheaper!! Besides that you can also use IG’s app which in some cases is enough useful
