A week or 2 back I noted the option to login to PRT Web when I was logging into PRT via IG. Now the link to PRT Web is not visible on IG login screens etc.

Anyway, I just downloaded the PRT web app to my phone.

I want to see my trades opened – via IG Account – on the PRT web app … is this possible does anybody know?

Any other comments about the PRT Web App, most welcome.

Anybody using PRT Web App and finding it useful / not useful etc?

How does the PRT Web App differ from the PRT mobile version, or is PRT/m not available for use any longer?

Where did you download the web app? I think this is just a shortcut on your phone that leads to the ProRealTime web charts: https://www.prorealtime.com/en/web

I know we are still progressively releasing the web version for IG clients, but as far as I know this is not yet fully deployed.

The mobile app is something different (a real Android / iOS application), available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.prorealtime.prtmobile&pcampaignid=web_share

I reckon it’s the 2nd one you refer to above?

I’m sure I downloaded it off Google PlayStore.

It’s called ProRealTime Mobile, attached is a screenshot.

    Do you recognise it Nicolas?

Layout on the PRT Mobile is good / clear, but I reckon the only way to see trades on it is to trade through PRT Direct (my Account is with IG)?

Can’t believe nobody else is using PRT Mobile App, or at least, can’t make a meaningful comment?

    A not-so-meaningful comment :

    • It is for PRT-IB only (unless proven otherwise);
    • It s*cks all over because when you log in to it, your desktop version is kicked out. Mind you, any version, regardless the account (!!).
    • It is by 500 miles not on par with e.g. IBKR Mobile (with the notice that the mobile version of IG is nothing much either).

Would it work for IG then you would observe :

It is made for manual trading or maybe analysis in an awkward way : observing your AutoTrading stuff is not what it is made for, that I can see.

Now you have one comment; it is worthless. Haha. The comments is not useless, were it about “can it do IG”; It can’t.

    Thank You Peter.

Is your PRT Desktop Platform provided by IBKR?

Or is your PRT Desktop Platform provided direct from PRT and then you sign up with IBKR via / through PRT?

    Hi GraHal,

The Desktop platform is provided by PRT as directly as possible. IBKR is not involved.

(note : unlike the IF PRT connection, where IG *is* involved)

Or is your PRT Desktop Platform provided direct from PRT and then you sign up with IBKR via / through PRT?

Sign up with IBKR goes under the hood – we notice nothing of that. FYI : this is broker related “sign up” only, because the data is from PRT herself (PRT is data provider). That is in the PRT-IBKR subscription contained.

In order to picture this hopefully better :

The trading platform from IBKR is Trader Work Station – TWS; that can – like with IG’s platform – be used just the same. One extra prerequisite : you must have a data (!) subscription to the data of concern with IBKR. The broker connection is already there because that was arranged through PRT.

PS: What @Nicolas hinted at is that you managed to start the Web version on your phone; I think that would be possible. But the Web version is just another version and AFAIK not for IG either. Its behaviour is similar to the Mobile version, which you can get through the software version of PRT which behaves differently on the phone (it’s phone-prone :-)). The common denominator : that too throws you out from everywhere (except from IG because it is not IG related).

Mind you please : I show below how to start the web version from within the normal PRT start procedure; it is just an option there these days. Mobile ? that installs through the Play Store these days. PRT is quite proud of that. But there shouldn’t be a reason to be proud of it if we cannot use it.

Do you get it now ?

    of course not.

So will you get is now ? of course again not.

    hahahaha

I don’t know what PRT is doing, but I see a lot of money thrown out while what we ask for is not being done (start with solving numerous bugs).

PS: I just checked – the screenshot you showed from your phone is indeed the PRT Mobile version.

PPS: And I noticed something else by accident – look at the 3rd screenshot – that is the Web version; it goes a bit unnoticed, but the message you see there can be interpreted like : Oh, do I want to do something – anything with Autotrading/ProOrder, then I’d need the “Complete” version. Yea, that is the desktop version.

In my previous post I said similar about the Mobile version. … Hey, the mobile version *is* the web version, in a different (CSS) coat.

Please (haha) don’t confuse this with the “test version” which one can get for PRT-IB. This would be (would have been) the trial version for you to look into V13. Today ? today we also have the Beta version (see 1st screenshot). That is fully operational (also ProOrder) though beta.

    … for PRT-IB …

    🙁

    I agree!

Now I need more caffeine (but it’s after noon, so nogo! 🙂 ) to get my head around all the different apps / web versions of PRT!
