Hi GraHal,
The Desktop platform is provided by PRT as directly as possible. IBKR is not involved.
(note : unlike the IF PRT connection, where IG *is* involved)
Or is your PRT Desktop Platform provided direct from PRT and then you sign up with IBKR via / through PRT?
Sign up with IBKR goes under the hood – we notice nothing of that. FYI : this is broker related “sign up” only, because the data is from PRT herself (PRT is data provider). That is in the PRT-IBKR subscription contained.
In order to picture this hopefully better :
The trading platform from IBKR is Trader Work Station – TWS; that can – like with IG’s platform – be used just the same. One extra prerequisite : you must have a data (!) subscription to the data of concern with IBKR. The broker connection is already there because that was arranged through PRT.
PS: What @Nicolas hinted at is that you managed to start the Web version on your phone; I think that would be possible. But the Web version is just another version and AFAIK not for IG either. Its behaviour is similar to the Mobile version, which you can get through the software version of PRT which behaves differently on the phone (it’s phone-prone :-)). The common denominator : that too throws you out from everywhere (except from IG because it is not IG related).
Mind you please : I show below how to start the web version from within the normal PRT start procedure; it is just an option there these days. Mobile ? that installs through the Play Store these days. PRT is quite proud of that. But there shouldn’t be a reason to be proud of it if we cannot use it.
Do you get it now ?
of course not.
So will you get is now ? of course again not.
hahahaha
I don’t know what PRT is doing, but I see a lot of money thrown out while what we ask for is not being done (start with solving numerous bugs).
PS: I just checked – the screenshot you showed from your phone is indeed the PRT Mobile version.
PPS: And I noticed something else by accident – look at the 3rd screenshot – that is the Web version; it goes a bit unnoticed, but the message you see there can be interpreted like : Oh, do I want to do something – anything with Autotrading/ProOrder, then I’d need the “Complete” version. Yea, that is the desktop version.
In my previous post I said similar about the Mobile version. … Hey, the mobile version *is* the web version, in a different (CSS) coat.
Please (haha) don’t confuse this with the “test version” which one can get for PRT-IB. This would be (would have been) the trial version for you to look into V13. Today ? today we also have the Beta version (see 1st screenshot). That is fully operational (also ProOrder) though beta.
… for PRT-IB …
🙁
