    Hi and merry christmats,

    I work with IG-PRT in Spain and found recently that at least the demo has now a limit of 25 systems runing in ProOrderAutoTrading. Before It was larger, I think 100. Never reached the 100 but I have more than 25 running in demo so it´s a very unpleasent change for me.

    Do you experience the same limit change?

    Hi Tempus,

    I wasn’t aware of that. I also have IG/PRT Spain and currently running in demo 24 strategies, but with the intention to run some more. I guess in REAL would be different, right?

    Hi Juan,

    No clue about REAL, I have just a couple of systems in real right now and it can be a little expansive to check the limit 🙂 My guess  is that is only limited in Demo but who knows…

    I am going to follow Madrosat and send a ticket.

    Hello,

    Demo accounts are now limited to 25 trading systems simultaneously in order to give priority to systems running in real trading accounts.

    Real accounts allow you to run up to 100 trading systems at the same time.

    Hi Maria,

    Thanks for the info. It makes sense. I am running 5 in REAL (and increasing one every 30-40 days according to the general performance of my account), and 24 in DEMO, but I can pass without some of them.

    Is there anyway to increase the limit in Demo? I hope in the future I won´t need that much but at this time I am testing a lot of new systems in Demo so is very inconvenient right now

    It’s not a good thing to have reduced to 25 the number of testable strategies in demo
    Because as shown below the difference between the backtests and the demo is huge.
    Look at the curves it’s the same strategy in 1 hour on eur usd.
    You would have done better to proceed in order and make the backtests credible before making such a decision !!!!
    Time and time again reported in swing trading when the entry and exit are done on the same candle the backtest always gives you a winner while it’s not
    often the case. And the tick tick did not arrange the thing contrary to what Nicolas thinks.
    So let 50 possibilities work on the backtest and when it is credible then 25 strategies will be largely sufficient.

    Hello everyone, and thank you Maria for your response. I think it does not make much sense to limit the maximum number of trading systems in demo accounts and expand it in real accounts. The normal thing is to have few systems running on the real account and many more testing on the demo account. After a verification time, those demo systems become real. If you limit the system number in demo, I think that will surely limit the number of systems in real.

    Bad decision of IG / PRT.

    There can only be two reasons for this decision.

    1. PRT’s servers are overloaded and they cannot afford to improve them without cutting into profits.
    2. It is in the interest of the companies we place trades with if strategies are put live before they are fully tested and confirmed as profitable and a limit on the number under test puts pressure on us to get them out of demo and onto live sooner than we should.

    As the companies we place trades with make money whether we win or lose I suspect it is the former rather than the latter. It is a terrible decision as cutting the quality or quantity of a product will never get more customers or help keep present customers – make it better and make it cheaper is what works unless you have no competition. Twenty five strategies under test is a pathetic number in my humble opinion and will only make people use other platforms that offer more. I suggest that PRT remedy this ASAP.

    I let you think of the monthly price of a decent server, rented by you, to make this possible through another platform 🙂

    Rather than me renting or buying a server for PRT I have a better suggestion I think that I will post in the platform suggestion section.

    I was talking about the server side execution of your codes (with the ease of a button), which are not possible with any other platform I know… , for free of charge and on servers located right near of markets. With thousands customers worldwide, I let you imagine how ressources consuming it is for PRT servers.

    Yes I imagine it is a huge set up and I cannot speak for others (except those others on here who have already posted with their disappointment at the change) but personally I would be happier with being able to run 100 strategies maximum divided over demo and live as I wished and then pay for more availability if I needed more strategies running – rather than be limited to 25 test strategies. PRT would actually be reducing server demand with that arrangement for everyone and the customer would be happy – which is always good in business!
