I thought I was missing out on something!

Maybe you are – maybe you are only a little bit? The window I wanted is the same as the graph that you get if you click on ‘Trading’ and then ‘Detailed Report’ and then change the ‘Gross performance’ to ‘Trades’ except it is just a separate window with just that graph in it. It is the overall portfolio performance rather than just the individual strategy performance that Ulrike has directed you to.

WE are going round in circles Bard?? 🙂

I’m still missing out on two things! The Gross performance chart (I can 0nly see it in the default PRT template) and now the Gross Performance “Trades” is missing! How do I see this wonderful performance chart for all systems? Cheers.

Click the Detailed Report as shown by the red arrowhead on attached and let us know if this is what you mean / want??

    OR

Do you mean the Report (which I now have … but I didn’t have in my earlier posts above) shown by clicking as shown by red arrowheads on image 2 and 3.

    Im bumping this thread with a similar request;

In backtesting theres another performance graph called Equity Curve which show the return in your preferred currency in “real time” – not “gain per closed trade” that the performance chart shows.

Is there any way to use/add/open this while live trading? Would be awesome! Perhaps i have missed something but i cant seem to find it.

Easiest I can think of would be to run the same System but on Demo Forward Test and then you will see the equity curve going forward as each trade is taken.

    Or

    Have I misread your question?

Thanks for reply! However that is kind of what i already do. I would like to have said “Equity Curve” on its own, either in a seperate window or as an indicator on the actual window im trading. Also this is not for systems trading but rather when scalping intraday.

Ah so you want to see an equity curve when manual trading??  You could look at the Detailed Report under the Manual Trading  Tab and you will see gains accruing (or losses 🙂 ) by day week etc and also by Trade.

OR are you clever enough to code an indicator to replicate your scalping strategy and run that at the same time with a suitable equity curve … I’m sure that has been done on here?

Btw … when you use the Quote button … just select the bit of a post that you are querying or replying to then press Quote … else if you Quote 100% of a previous post then folks end up  wasting their time reading all the post (again) and getting mildly annoyed 🙂 and Nicolas website gets bogged down with unnecessary repeated text.

And if a reply immediately follows a post and you are replying to the whole post then there is no need to use the Quote button at all, just put for example @GraHal then folks will know you are replying to the previous post. 🙂

    Hehe got it 😉

I already mentioned the detailed report in my initial post, so that wont do it unfortunately. I want to see the current gain/loss live, not after the trade is closed 🙂

Like the “Latent Gain” or “Gain Today” numbers, but in a graph

Why not just click on ‘View Performance’ next to the strategy that is running live in the ProOrderAutotrading window? Then you get a chart showing live changes to the equity curve if a trade is open.

Perhaps it is not exactly what you want but it is something!

    #106869

Hmm im not sure i follow… where is “View Performance”? I mean how do i get the Equity Curve in your picture to appear without alot of prior information on it and so on?

    #106872

ooohh now i get what you mean! I have never launched an automatic trading system before, thats why i didnt understand what you meant! But yeah this might work.. ill look into it

    Thanks  for helping out Vonasi.

It won’t work as you want same for a manual trade?

I have often learnt new stuff by helping others … maybe I will learn something now?? 🙂

I made a “Dummy Strategy” (Buy condition: Daily Ma200=999999) so it will never actually trigger anything. When i enter the “View Performance” window i get, as you said, the equity curve (now set to zero which is exactly what i want). My questions is: will this equity curve change if i trade manually on a different chart (but the same market)?

    Thanks for your idea!

    #106879

will this equity curve change if i trade manually

No it is only the equity curve for the auto strategy it is linked to. I assumed you were talking about auto trading as that is what this topic started out talking about and not manual trading.

I stated several times above that my question referred to manual trading. Im sorry if this was not the appropriate thread to ask this question.
