Hi all,
I’ve been seeing more and more services that claim to analyse financial news with AI and turn it into trading forecasts or stock tips. I mostly trade from charts and my own reading of the news, so automating the news-watching part sounds appealing in theory, but I’m not sure how much of it is real vs. marketing.
Has anyone here actually tried this kind of tool – an AI news analyser that gives signals or recommendations on stocks (I came across one called ForceTrend that does exactly that)? I’d be curious whether the signals hold up in practice or whether it’s basically a summary of what you’d already know from following the news yourself. Any honest experience, even a negative one, would be very welcome. Thanks!
Hi! From my own experience, there can definitely be a real edge in using AI for news analysis. I’ve built two custom projects for my own trading, and the backtested data supports the advantage.
However, there is a massive amount of marketing hype in this space right now.
The main issue with third-party commercial tools is the ‘black box’ factor. You never truly know what’s under the hood: their data sources, latency, sentiment weighting, or potential over-fitting.
That’s precisely why I only trade using my own designs.
Thanks for sharing that – especially the point about the black-box factor. Not being able to see the data sources, latency or how the sentiment is weighted is exactly what makes me hesitate before paying for a commercial tool. Building your own backtested system sounds like the right way to go if you have the skills for it. Appreciate the honest take.
