Just an idea to help us all as a Community.

I have always tried to get into the habit of extending my Forward Test valid until date. I  have tried every 1st of the month, good idea if the extend days was not a fixed 20 days!  I have tried every weekend.

None of above work (as I forget) and I often end up with loads of Systems (on long term Forward Test) expiring.  And we all know what an absolute mare it is to get them all going again (click all the exclamation boxes then scroll up scroll down scroll up scroll down for each separate System)

PRT (or maybe it is IG ?) don’t seem to want to make it easy / practicable for us in any way at all so I am trying this Reminder Topic ! 🙂

Sooo … Check your Forward Test Expiry Dates … NOW ! 🙂

When you check your expiry dates (on a date different than the reminder on this topic) then add a reminder here to us all please?

    Hope above makes sense?

    Edit / PS

Ha … I just thought, if we get all our Systems synchronised re date then it would only need 1 of us to remind all the others!  Mine are all showing 21 Nov now.

There is a tick box in live PRT that enables you to set up an auto-reminder when strategies are about to expire.

Not sure why they haven’t replicated this in demo…

Actually, it IS in demo too…. look under OPTIONS/TRADING OPTIONS/email notification…

I’ve now got into the habit of extending my strategies stop date every time I launch my platform. It has now become automatic for me to just click the button before I do anything else. I also have the email option set just in case.

Just one occasion where I had to restart 25 strategies was enough punishment to drill this new routine into my head. Clicking a button every day to prevent ever having to do that whole restart procedure is so much less painful!

Yes I adopted your good idea Vonasi, it seems to be working as it is an auto-every time action (as opposed to  once per week / weekend ).
