    First off … I know there is no Criteria that will guarantee success … so that saves you having to say it!  🙂

    I am thinking of knocking up a rule of thumb set of criteria that I look for on Systems at Optimise stage to then set going on Forward Test or after Forward Test to set Live Running.

    I’ve always had criteria loosely in my head, but felt it may benefit from recording / writing them down.

    Then I thought … this could be an interesting topic for discussion??  If not interesting then useful?? 🙂

    I would enter Criteria posted on this Thread on an all-share google sheet   (like my Snippet Library etc).

    So I’ll start with one …

    1.  % of Winning Trades x Gain to Loss Ratio => 100
      (so could be 50% x 2 or 60% x 1.6 or 75% x 1.3 or … etc)

    Cheers

    Correct me if i am wrong but this looks like the formula for expectancy , if so i set my standards for pretty well all my algos at minimum 65% WR at minimum  1:1 risk /reward .  This is my baseline criteria based on probability matrix/curve   . The higher the win rate the less the probability of consecutive losing trades  ,  keeps the curve smoother

    edit   ….   what the hell with the mega smilies
