    When Backtesting, the amount of data we receive is always 10K. Why ? Why does the whole platform nicely saves the amount of data per chart but not with BackTesting ? As soon as we “restart” a Chart, there’s the 10K again. Please solve this annoying little issue.

    I may be misunderstanding?

    I can see sense in the default 10k bars?

    If, for example, in our previous session, we Quit and Saved on 100k bars backtest, then when we all / lots of us clicked Login in the morning and then went and got our breakfast there would be 1000’s of backtests (from 1M PRT uses worldwide) all competing for PRT server time to get to 100k bars backtest (that we last saved on) ??

    You understand correctly 🙂
    But when you work with 1 second strategies, this makes no sense.

    Although that makes very much sense, … if I want my 1M backtest back I will ask for that anyway. And btw, the 1M coincidentally is preserved (it is special because it (History) opens in its own new Chart. But talk 200K and your text makes as much sense.
    On a side note, I saw this issue passing in this forum several times. This is why I put it in there (it is not on my own list). Point here is (or could be) : quite some reasons exist to restart the platform, especially with BackTesting. And now it could happen that you are staring to strange figures because the BackTest is automatically re-applied after the restart. But the result won’t be much what you were used to. And you can’t really see it either. Only if you fell into that pitfall a dozen times, you will know definitely.

    If PRT considers your concern, they will judge it like that and reject. So, good that you brought it up !

    Reject in any case. If X users haved launched 1M backtests before quit & save and relaunch the platforms with that history by default, the load on backtests servers will be huge.

    Agreed. Is off of the list.

    When I save and quit, and there is any chart open showing 1 million bars in historical mode, it starts up next time with 1 million bars again.

    Correct. That’s what I said earlier. That is probably more difficult to prohibit because it is a different cart.

    @Nicolas
    and @GraHal are still right IMO, but it is a bit moot because if this. Anyway, it should not be on the list, I think. Right ?
