I just had an Algo stopped and the message was the one that says … stopped due to external event or modification etc … well I didn’t modify or stop externally.

It was on my Demo Account so no big deal.

Anybody else getting this recently or ever as you can recall?

I swear I did not touch your orders! 😆

I think it’s because when turning the wheel the number assigned to that message won!

    Grahal,

No algo-stops recently for me, but in my experience in Demo sometimes happen because.

I have had the same system in Demo and Real and it stopped in Demo but not in Real

For me it’s often the opposite from TempusFugit’s problem, same strategy stops on real account but keeps trading on demo. The reason for stop is usually that PRT (live) claims that the strategy tried to take position in both directions. Happens almost every week.

claims that the strategy tried to take position in both directions.

Do you operate a Guaranteed Stop Account?

If Yes, then this may be the reason as  Guaranteed Stop Accounts do not allow hedging … even from 2 separate Algos.

Check on above as I may have it wrong?

Let us know what you find out please?

That would explain it. I use guaranteed stops on the algos that run over weekends. Guess I have to be a little wild and crazy and turn it off. Thanks GraHal!

Surely you are already wild and crazy as spread on the DJI with IG is 30 points over the weekend?

Maybe you are not with IG?  And / or you mean trading on Sunday after 23:00?

My algos on indices (only trade DJI) always closes before weekends, I don’t use guaranteed stops on them.

But the algos on EUR/USD holds position over the weekends so I had the g-stops on them. I’ll take the risk and turn it off since the price usually doesn’t move that much from friday evening to sunday evening anyway.
