Tested it on this strategy that only has one order at a time and it seems to work fine so I can only assume that it just didn’t work with cumulative orders.
It works with any quantities of orders, it is not possible to close only 1 position with code, all of them are closed at the same time.
OK – I definitely saw something strange yesterday – short trades in a buy only strategy and exceptional time in the market with tiny positions shown on the graph that should have been closed – but I have not been able to replicate it so hopefully it is just another little random glitch! A bit off topic but why does the Detailed Report sometimes not show Drawdown and Runup after a backtest but then does if you click on the spanner in the equity window and re-request a report?
Nicolas, coming back to your original post, you’ve headed it “… possible on ProOrder Live“, my emphasis. Does that work the same way as ProOrder AutoTrading?
I ask because even if I quote an order size of 1.50 in ProOrder AutoTrading, as in “buy 1.5 perpoint at market” for CAD/CHF in this case, it actually opens a trade on IG Index at £1.00 per point, not £1.50.
It should work for any live account with ProOrder, even with spread betting ones. Did you try “BUY 1.5 CONTRACTS AT MARKET”?
I’ve just tried that but IG index entered the trade at £1.00, not £1.50. You said earlier that my PRT software should handle decimals OK, but it appears that it is not.
Does
Ok, I’m not an IG customer and I did not have Spread betting account, so I cannot test myself. I’ll ask someone to know why it does not work the way it should and I’ll give you news here.
OK, thank you, but perhaps it would be better if you can give me contact details of a PRT expert who also knows IG Index?
Can’t you simply trade mini contracts instead? Or is there a difference between 15 mini contracts and 1.5 full contract? If you are not trading really big positions mini contracts should work IMO. This is at least what I do.
I got confirmation that it works correctly in live environment with spread betting. @John, if you still encounter the problem, you should make a ticket to support with the dedicated tool in the platform.
Thank you Despair and Nicolas. The problem is now solved, it appears there was a bug in the software that PRT have now fixed so I’m now getting orders filled to the correct position size with two places of decimals

Hi all,
Does “strategyprofit” function provide the number in the currency that is working or always in euros?
Lets say we have a code in USD/JPY, we won 1000 JPY , will the code entry next time with (1000/145)=n=6.90????
or with 1000JPY=7.7€ —> 7.7/145=n=1.05 ?
Strategyprofit is in the currency of the current instrument.
Relating to this subject, of order quantities, IG Index have £ per point in their spread betting accounts. How does this relate to contracts, which is in the ProOrder.
If I want to do £1 per point or multiples thereof, what do you programme into ProOrder and where?
